How to test that a Rudraksha is original or duplicate?

There are many ways to test a rudraksha but they are not accurate the best way to test whether a rudraksha is pure or duplicate is to boil the rudraksha in oil. If the rudraksha is duplicate that is made of artificial material or two rudraksha are joined by glue they will break. But test by this method on your own risk because it will turn your original rudraksha black.

How do we choose a good rudraksha ?

Many get confused with the shape and size of rudraksha . One should not seriously worry about it. Just see that the Mukhi is well defined, corns and contours are natural, and there are no cracks near the central hole. The bead has to be lustrous and healthy and devoid of deep cracks and insect holes .

How do the beads work ?

The beads are ancient vedic beads of power and they work by Touch , Sight , Worship or Possession . So you may wear them or hold them or keep them in your pocket or altar for worship.

Can Women Wear rudraksha?

Yes, they can. According to our holy books , Rudraksha can be worn at all times by everybody.

Is it that only Hindus can wear?

No, All can wear. Ancient texts have not limited wearing of these beads to any caste , religion or sex . Some ancient texts also talk of animals wearing them and achieving salvation.

What if Some one eat Non-Veg and/or drink Alcohol?

Make Rudraksha a part of your body. Your faith will bring grace in your life. Slowly you will find that you are moving away from non - Veg and alcohol.

What is the life of Rudraksha beads?

Could be any number of years. If well protected, can be passed on from generation to generation

Can we wear in ring?

No, Please avoid. Hands get dirty often. Purity of the bead gets affected

Does it bring luck?

Yes, Shiva Purana specially describe that Lakshmi stays where Rudraksha is.

What are the mythological merits?

Shiva Purana describe Rudrakshas origin as Lord Shiva's tears. He had been meditating for many years for the welfare of all creatures. On opening the eyes, hot drops of tears rolled down and the mother earth gave birth to Rudraksha trees .

Does it have any medical use?

Yes, Rudraksha is classified as a seed of ELAEOCARPACEAE family and has many medicinal properties. It is widely used in preparation of Ayurvedic medicines.

Is it true that Rudraksha controls blood pressure?

Yes, Take a copper glass of water. Dip few beads of five Mukhi rudraksha in it, preferably after sun set. Drink it when you get up in the morning, before any other intake.

Does Rudraksha help Sudden Nervousness?

Yes. Keep a size 6 Mukhi Rudraksha with you. Whenever you feel nervous due to sudden shock and feel cold, just hold it tight in your right palm for ten minutes. You will regain your confidence and body will start warming up.

Can children wear One Mukhi rudraksha ?

Yes. Anyone can wear rudraksha there is no age limit as it blessed by shiva.

Can the family members keep interchanging Neck Malas, Japa Malas or Rudraksha beads?

No. There is a relationship between the wearer and Rudraksha, which is very private and must not be shared. But it can be willed and passed on to the next generation.

What is the significance of 15 to 21 Mukhis?

Rudraksha of 15 to 21 Mukhi are duplicate, in our shastras there is no description of them and every one know that our shastras are complete. Every Rudraksha seller would offer you 15 to 21 mukhi rudraksha and say it is rare so how could it be rare if every rudraksha seller is selling them. I Think it is a good way to find out if the Rudrakhsa seller is selling real Rudraksha or duplicate, if a Rudraksha seller is selling any one of 15 to 21 mukhi then he selling duplicate rudraksha.

We read in Puranas that Rudraksha are to be worn in different numbers on the different parts of the body like head, neck, both wrists, both fore arms, waist, abdomen etc. What is the purpose?

Yes. It is true for those who desire to acquire Special Siddhis. The number of beads is very important when wearing on different parts of the body like 27 or 54 or 108 for neck , 32 for throat , 6/11/15 for arms , 5 for waist etc.

Is Rudraksha therapy effective?

Yes . Very much. Only the therapist should be a well experienced person. Rudraksha beads work on physical , emotional and planetary and karmic levels to heal a person and this kind of healing is most deeprooted.

Ritual for Wearing Rudraksha

Before Rudraksha is worn on the body it needs to be sanctified and energized . In case you would like to sanctify the Rudraksha yourself, the simplest procedure is

Choose an auspicious day. Monday are Lord Shiva days and could be chosen.

• Wash Rudraksha with unboiled milk and water.

• Apply sandalwood paste on it. Offer Incense and flowers (Since the rudraksh is cleaned, applying sandal paste to it is usually done for beads or malas that are to be placed on the altar for worship. If they are for wearing, then waving or touching a bit of sandal paste or powder to the beads is fine. This is also a form of offering).

• Chant "Om Namah Shivaya" 108 times .

• Chant the specific mantra of the mukhis minimum of 9 times.

Two Mukhi "Shree Gauri Shankaraya Namah", 'Om Namah'

Three Mukhi "O Kleem Namah, Om Namah Shivaya"

Upon completion of the above described steps wear your Rudraksha chanting Om Namah Shivaye . The Rudraksha thus becomes divine , and creates a a divine armour around it's worshipper and bestows health ,wealth and success.

If you would like to enhance the effects of the different Rudraksha then the specific mantras for each of the Rudraksha could be repeated as often as you choose any time of the day . Also "Om Namah Shivaya" or "Namah Shivaya" mantra energizes the Rudraksha beads when chanted with them. Keep the beads as close to your skin as possible. Rudraksha can also be kept in Puja room and prayed for benefit of whole family.
